Character First Honorees: North Heights Middle School

The objective of Character First is to recognize middle school students who have displayed outstanding character traits during the previous grading period.  Oaklawn Rotarians periodically honor two students from each Texas Middle School; Liberty Eylau School, Pleasant Grove Middle School, and North Heights Middle School.  The students from each school are nominated by the faculty of their school.

Sarah Norwood

Sarah is in 7th grade and a member of the NH band and plays the saxophone.  She participates in the GT program, takes Pre AP classes, and is an all “A” student.  In her spare time she likes to read and play video games on her Nintendo DS.  She says her favorite game is Super Mario Brothers.  She attends Red Oak Grove Baptist church in Ashdown.  We take great pleasure in having a student like Sarah on our campus and she is well deserving of this award.

Cameron Jones

Cameron is an excellent honors student who participates in our GT program.  Cameron attends Pinson Park Baptist Church and is a Razorback Athlete.  He was a member of the North Heights 8th grade football team where he played fullback and also served as a kicker.  He is an avid baseball player and won the home run derby last summer during his teams little league world series tournament.  When he is not playing baseball he likes to play on his XBox.
