Character First: Pleasant Grove Middle School

The objective of Character First is to recognize middle school students who have displayed outstanding character traits during the previous grading period. Oaklawn Rotarians periodically honor two students from each Texas Middle School; Liberty Eylau School, Pleasant Grove Middle School, and North Heights Middle School. The students from each school are nominated by the faculty of their school.

Nathan Brinkley

Nathan is in 8th grade and is the son of James and Jerrice Brinkley.  He participates in band, Boy’s Athletics, PGMS Student Council, Texarkana Dixie baseball, and activities in his church youth group.  Nathan plans to pursue a degree in Mathematics in order to become a teacher or an accountant.  In addition, he would like to play college baseball at the University of Oklahoma.

Tristan Stuart

Kylie is in 8th grade and is the daughter of Steven and Michelle Rogers.  She plays basketball, volleyball and runs track in the 400 meter dash.  She is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society.  Kylie would like to attend Stanford University where she intends to pursue a career in the medical field.

Entertainment was provided by the Pleasant Grove Middle School Jazz band, under direction of Shannon Sandage.
