Character First: Pleasant Grove Middle School

The objective of Character First is to recognize middle school students who have displayed outstanding character traits during the previous grading period. Oaklawn Rotarians periodically honor two students from each Texas Middle School; Liberty Eylau School, Pleasant Grove Middle School, and North Heights Middle School. The students from each school are nominated by the faculty of their school.

Allen Lambert

Allen is an 8th grade student who participates in Boy’s Athletics and enjoys cross country running, playing football, and baseball.  He also enjoys reading, traveling with family, snow skiing, duck hunting, and spending time with friends and youth group at first Baptist Church Texarkana.  Allen plans to attend Baylor or Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Medicine to be an Orthopedic Surgeon.  He is the son of Paul and Stacy Lambert.

Mabrey Payne

Mabrey is an 8th grade student who is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and Pleasant Grove Middle School Yearbook staff.  She is also a member of Heritage Baptist Church where she sings on Sundays.  Mabrey intends to pursue a career in the medical field.  She is the daughter of Rich and Allison Payne.

Entertainment was provided by the Pleasant Grove Middle School Choral Ensemble, which is made up of 6th, 7th & 8th graders that enjoy expressing themselves by singing and work throughout the year on several different genres of music.  Today they preformed “My America”, “Believe” and “A Winter Blast”.
