The Texarkana Oaklawn Rotary club was pleased to have Dr. Beverly Rowe to speak to our club about the new attractions she is bringing down town.
The first new attraction is the Lindsey Railroad Museum which will be located at 202 East Broad Street. The museum will contain information, photos, art displays, and first person accounts of the history of early Texarkana and the railroad system that birthed it.
The Lindsay Railroad Museum will have it’s Grand Opening on May 12, 2012, as part of the Railfest festivities. Until then, the museum is open by appointment through Texarkana Museums System. They can be contacted by calling (903) 793-4831, or by emailing texarkanamuseums.org.
Dr. Rowe also mentioned bringing a Police and Fire museum, and an 1890’s Old Broad Street Exhibit to the same area.
The Texarkana Oaklawn Rotary club is very proud that Dr. Rowe is so passionate about preserving the roots of our city!
